معرفی کتاب زائر کوم پوستل از نگاه کاربران
Well, the 2 week journey made on foot by Paulo Coelho ended for me this evening. To tell you the truth, after reading this book, Id like to experience it myself...But enough about me, lets get straight to the reviewing process.
This book is the authors first one. In it, he writes about his pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Despite the fact that the journey was filled with many unpleasant things ( injuries, exhaustion , bad weather conditions and so on...), in the end it turned out to be a priceless life experience for Paulo. Not to mention everything he learned from his guide Petrus, who accompanied him along the way.
Many people complain, that parts in this book are written in a way that only Paulo can understand the full meaning, but this doesnt mean the book isnt worth reading if it cant be fully understood. This book isnt one of those that can be grasped with your first try as all the other books by this author. Ill admit that I didnt understand everything, but Im not disappointed either because I know when Ill open it again, I will find out something new. Thats what I like the most about Paulos books, that they arent a one time thing.
To sum everything up, this is a great read, that every person should try out. An inspirational story of a person searching for himself. May the spark that drives us to live never fades away. Love, faith, belief - embrace these virtues!

I finished another Paulo Coelho book. I like the writings of Paulo because of the life in it. The Christian imageries he uses whole along his novel makes it more lively. I also was travelling all along with him to this pilgrimage to San Tiago. I too was fighting with the legion when he fought with it. He found his sword now it is my duty to find mine to find the purpose of it. Sometimes this type of novels gives us a power to fight a good fight. The we are living this earth demands a lot but in a world full of voices we forget to listen to the voice of silence. The novel was teaching to listen to the inner voice. This is my fourth experience with Paulo Coelho he is always inspiring me and go with full power. He is taking his own saint Paul in his writings. Many times the words of Saint Paul came alive in this novel. A great work, I recommend this to anyone who needs to go ahead with much inspiration and motivation.

Ok, I had promised myself, not to read any more books by Paolo Coelho, but Ive become a victim of first my curiosity to read one of the most well-known books about the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela which Ive done myself just three months ago and secondly of clever book marketing: The volume I own is beautifully bound in blue with pigeons, shells and the cathedral of Santiago, all in all very hippyish and thus kind of irresistible to me.

So far, I enjoy Coelhos strange voyage much more than I would have thought and some of the spiritual exercises he suggests, seem quite interesting and easy to practice even at home. I suppose one needs to be open for that kind of writing, but its invigorating to read about the possibilities of living a fulfilled life in which dreams come true and to be assured that this happiness is normally not achieved by killing oneself in an office all day long.

The very simple writing style which annoyed me so much in Veronica decides to die, doesnt bother me in this description of his pilgrimage as I read this less as literature per se, but as a shared experience, a travel diary and a compilation of spiritual advice.

Not bad at all until I got around the middle of the book, then the whole esoteric bla bla started getting terribly on my nerves - some of the experiences Coelho narrates are just way too twisted for my liking. Ive met some people into templars and magic (dark and white) on the camino, but Ive never felt big attraction towards these things myself, probably also because they inspire a kind of terror in me. I wouldnt like to hear all those voices and talk to my guardian all the time, not a little bit........In the end I was skipping whole pages just to get to the end, not such an inspiring read after all. Besides, Paulo Coelho leans towards self-celebration which is annoying after a while.

Some very good thoughts which Ill try to keep in mind and some exercises Ill try to practice, but very much over-the-top stuff as well - in the end, I can recommend some very few pages of the book, but I wouldnt bother to read it completely all over again.

Ok, heres my problem with Coelhos writing: It was hard for me to decided whether the story fiction or not. Same as Mitch Alboms books, but put some religion thingy into Coelhos. This is my third book, Ive read The Alchemist and Warrior of the Light (this is one of my fave book) and I think this book is the combination of two books I mentioned above. It was about a journey (the alchemist checked), to be specific: a religion journey (the alchemist checked), to found a sword (warrior of the light checked) and defeated our own devils (warrior of the light checked).

Since I dont understand about The Pilgrimage in Catholics way, I quite enjoyed the trainings that Paulus gave to Paulo (our MC named Paulo, that made me think is it the author himselfs journey?) and also the setting which placed in Santiago de Compostela in Spain. This is not everybodys favorite book I think, but maybe for some people, the journey could be meaningful.

I adore this book. it was like the key to my lost soul.
alot said that the alchemist is better than this one, but for me i found it more interesting and reliable.
most of all i like the ways he took to reach peace in the end. i think everyone can benefit from it and reach the point when love is everything we search for.
